Katie Farmer is a wife, mother of 2, stylist, graphic designer and owner of Celebration Lane. She loves to design invitations, make crafts, occasionally bake, and hang out with her two young children (Elizabeth, 6 and Ethan, 3). She has degree in Computer Information Systems and has a background in desktop publishing, web design, and database management. She is a lover of pretty fonts, balloons, anything pumpkin, and fun flavored coffee.
The online shop, Celebration Lane, not only sells printable party designs (birthdays, baby showers, bridal showers, events), but also sells trendy paper straws, huge 36″ balloons, favor bags, baking cups, milk bottles, berry baskets, baker’s twine and gifts.
Katie’s styled parties have been featured on Hostess With The Mostess, Kara’s Party Ideas, Everyday Party Magazine, Carousel Party Magazine, and Twinkle Twinkle Little Party Magazine.
Q&A with Katie:
Favorite Food(s): Mac n’ Cheese, my husband’s “street corn”
Favorite Snack(s): Hummus with Pretzels or Carrots (or Doritos, if I am having a major craving day!)
Favorite Dessert(s): I’m a “vanilla” girl, but I love anything chocolate. And peppermint. And if it’s Fall, anything pumpkin. I pretty much love anything dessert! Except pie. No fruity pies.
Favorite Color(s): Green or Purple
Favorite Movie(s): Dances With Wolves, Moulin Rouge, and A Few Good Men (Does this age me?)
Favorite Season: Fall! Not that we have the pretty seasonal changes here in Florida, but I love everything about Fall. Pumpkin Bread. Fall colors. Thanksgiving. Halloween. All of it!
Favorite Holiday: Christmas. Nothing makes me happier than the month of December. I kick start the season by making my traditional Black Friday trip where I do at least half of my Christmas shopping! It’s an art people. It’s not as fun now that stores are opening on Thanksgiving Day, but I have my tradition and I am keeping it. 4am shopping, list in hand, home by 7:30! Perfect way to start the holidays.
Do You Prefer To Go To Parties Or Host Them Yourself?
Besides the part where you have to clean, I probably prefer to host parties. That way I can make sure there is the perfect amount of food, and a variety. And something I like. Does that make me a control freak? Haha.
What Do You Like About Hosting or Styling Parties?
I love everything about styling a party. I love the creative part, searching for ideas, dreaming up color schemes, and thinking of fun foods to serve.
