My son loves trucks and is “all boy”, so I thought it would be fun to throw him a Construction Birthday Party! We had so many fun activities and food, the party was a blast.
The walkway to the house had a “fabric road” and the front door had caution tape wrapped around it and a gear-shaped door sign for the birthday boy. Inside were signs like “Caution, Children at Play” and “Watch Your Step”. For the food table, I used several large and small construction vehicles, hung tissue poms in coordinating colors and used square yellow plates for a simple, inexpensive backdrop to the table.
There was a “build a sandwich” area with mayo and mustard inside cans labeled “Paint” with actual paint brushes to use. There were carrot sticks (lumber yard) and hummus (wet cement), along with Chex Mix (nuts & bolts) inside the cutest mini toolboxes we made.
I made pudding cups with gummy worms (dirt cups), mini chocolate donuts (spare tires), and had lots of other sweets and treats. The fabulous construction cookies were from Creating Awesomenessity and the chocolate trucks lollipops from Sparkling Sweets Boutique.
I got ambitious and made Ethan’s Birthday Cake, which was a “mud cake” with lots of chocolate frosting and crushed Oreos on top. I added 2 construction cone candles since he was turning 2 and an adorable fondant dump truck “E” made by Kima’s Konfections.
Activities included a bounce house, cardboard house-painting station, sticker & coloring station, and a digging area. The paintable house was a huge hit! I put out lots of washable paints and the kids went to town painting it over and over. The house was also big enough to play inside too.
Each child received a hard hat to wear and had fun digging with shovels and trucks in the sand pit. I also set up a large table with crayons, construction sticker kits, coloring sheets, and a hammer with golf tees and a foam block to also practice their building skills! They had so much fun and were entertained the entire time, which was nice for the parents too.
For favors, I used yellow and orange pails with a printable tag “I hope you DUG coming to my 2nd birthday, it was LOADS of fun! Love, Ethan”. Inside the pails were a ruler, colored pencils, stickers, personalized coloring sheet, construction vehicle, Home Depot apron, and a dump truck cookie. The kids had so much fun!

I really love the mini tool box!! i’m wondering if you have a printable template or was created by yourself?
Thanks

Thank you! I found a template (I believe) on the Silhouette site, but I had to alter it a little for my needs to get it to be smaller. I then created the “Nuts & Bolts” tags for the front to match the theme.
