Anne-Marie of Elianna Noelle Events created the cutest Seussical world to celebrate twins turning one. It’s always wonderful to see parents do something special for each twin. Dr. Seuss’ iconic characters, Thing One & Thing Two, lend themselves perfectly to a twin birthday party and allow parents to feature each child individually! The sweets table was beautifully decorated, each side dedicated to one of the twins. It was filled with sweets and snacks in red and turquoise, with The Cat in the Hat birthday cake front and center, complete with handmade Thing One & Thing Two sitting on the edge of the cake stand.
Other adorable Dr. Seuss elements were scattered throughout the party. The cupcake toppers included green eggs and ham, truffula trees, and little fish, as well as several book covers. Oh, The Places You’ll Go quotes show up in the paw prints and on the cookies, and the hot air balloons are a sweet nod that “Today is your day!”
In The Spotlight:
- Hand painted Dr. Seuss themed marshmallows
- Hand crafted fondant cake and cupcake toppers, featuring well known icons from Dr. Seuss books
- Hot Air Balloon Centerpieces
- Lots of fun DIY items, such as shelves, frames, candy jars and popcorn jars
Dr. Seuss Thing 1 & Thing 2 Birthday Party
The party details, in Anne-Marie’s words…
“Celebrating One is Fun with Thing Two & Thing One!
This is my first twin themed birthday and was so excited to hear that my client wanted elements from many of the Dr. Seuss books, highlighting Thing One and Thing Two for her precious girl and boy. “Oh the places you’ll go” with this theme! That’s exactly what I tried to do. I created the left side for her daughter who was born first and accentuated Thing One with a red hair bow. Thing Two was identified by a turquoise bow tie with all things turquoise on the right side.
I was inspired by the various characters and objects from many of the books. The centerpieces were inspired from “Up Up and Away!” To incorporate the book “One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish,” I did exactly that on the four high-top tables. One fish in one bowl with some decorative water beads. Two fish in another bowl, a red fish in a third bowl, and lastly, a blue fish. I added some Dr Seuss books to those tables as well to coordinate with the edible book cupcake toppers at the dessert station.
My DIY crafts were the red frames and the candy and gourmet popcorn jars. I bought the jars and candlesticks from Home Depot and the finials and spray paint from Michaels. I used a heavy duty glue for the adhesive and voila! I bought wooden frames and spray painted them red to frame the custom letters. My handyman made the shelves for me and I spray painted these as well. The shelves were made to showcase the incredible Dr Seuss themed marshmallows, the 3-D font and toppers on cupcakes, and personalized wooden blocks.”

Where can i find the dr. Seuss letters?
Katie Farmer says
Hi Kimberly, I believe they are plain letters with Dr. Seuss paper or fabric glued on top and trimmed to the letter shape. Hope that helps!
Sean Johnson says
I purchased the letters butI was wondering is that some kind of wrapping paper on them because I googled so much and couldn’t find the paint splash paper that you have on the letters. I did find the cutouts.
Katie Farmer says
Hi there! I believe it was just scrapbook paper cut to size and glued on.
