The fabulously talented party stylist Kim Stoegbauer of The TomKat Studio recently styled this Barbie Pool Party for Toy “R” Us, and boy is it ever so cute! The party was inspired by the new movie Barbie The Pearl Princess. My daughter, being a lover of all things Barbie and mermaid, absolutely loves this movie and her Barbie The Pearl Princess Mermaid! Kim also designed all of the printables you’ll see, which are available free for you to download. You can even personalize them for your party!
The party in Kim’s Words…
“Barbie™ The Pearl Princess takes place entirely underwater, so what better idea than to host the celebration outdoors for a pool party! Little girls will love this pink, purple and aqua color palette inspired by the colors used most throughout the movie. We designed a collection of free printable Barbie™ The Pearl Princess party designs, including an invitation, cupcake toppers, favor tags, food labels and a happy birthday banner for you to download! You can even add your own text before printing. Sweet treats like clam shell and starfish cookies, embellished cupcakes, white chocolate popcorn and punch are perfect ideas for this poolside birthday party.”
Check out the Trailer here:
Barbie™ stars as Lumina™, a mermaid who dreams of being a princess. As long as she can remember, she’s had a magical power that makes pearls dance and glow! Lumina™, and her best friend Kuda, a pink seahorse, embark on an adventure to a majestic mer-kingdom. There, she uses her powers to help her friends prepare for the Royal Ball. Lumina™ then discovers that her magical pearls are the key to unlocking her true destiny and ultimately saving the kingdom.
THE FOOD:
Kim made it so easy for her little guests by packing a lunch in these fun gable boxes. She added ribbon and a customized name tag with each of the girls’ names on it. What little girl doesn’t like to see their name on something?! So cute!
Punch was served in clear drink cups with matching party circles placed on front with a striped paper straw. It was the perfect touch and made it a fun drink for the girls.
THE TREATS:
The party took place poolside, where Kim also set up a movie screen for the kids to watch the new Barbie movie. Special treats were set out for the girls to enjoy, like starfish and clamshell cookies, white chocolate popcorn with candy “pearls” mixed in, and cupcakes with pretty cupcake toppers that you can even download here.
THE ACTIVITIES
Kim set up a Bracelet Making Station for the kids to keep them busy. She set out ribbon and chunky “pearl” beads for the girls to string together. The bracelets were a lot of fun for the girls to wear, and also take home as another party favor! You could also have your guests make fun necklaces and tie knots in-between each bead to secure them in place. I made a similar one with bubblegum balls and my daughter loved it!
The girls loved to play with their new Barbie The Pearl Princess Transforming Mermaid Dolls during the party. They even come with a comb that tucks away in their fin and there are 4 friends in different colors to choose from.
DRESS UP:
At the end of the party, the girls got to change into Lumina’s Pearl Princess Dress! What girl doesn’t love to play dress up? If you are having a larger number of girls at your party, you can purchase just one or two and let the girls take turns being in the spotlight.
THE PARTY FAVORS
Each of the girls got to take home Barbie Coloring Books and Barbie Step Into Reading Books as party favors. To complete the look, all you need to do is download these free printable tags from The TomKat Studio and add a pretty ribbon! Kids get so much candy as party favors, the parents will welcome these fun books for the kids instead.
Party planning has never been so easy! You can download all of the printable designs from The TomKat Studio website for free. Yes, FREE!
